Arc Business Interiors appointed Glenfield Electrical to manage the electrical installations for Jade Engineering’s office transformation in Coventry. Our team handled lighting, power, data cabling, and containment for a variety of spaces, including office floors, meeting rooms, and common areas. We were awarded the contract in September 2024 and completed the project over several months to ensure that Jade Engineering’s new space was ready for operation.
The Story of Jade Engineering’s New Office Fit Out
Jade Engineering’s new office space was designed to offer a modern, functional, and energy-efficient environment. The project involved significant rewiring to meet low-smoke and fume standards, as well as the installation of specialized lighting and power solutions throughout the building. Glenfield Electrical’s role was to bring the electrical infrastructure up to spec, supporting Jade Engineering’s commitment to a safe, efficient, and adaptable office environment.
The Challenge
The primary challenge of this project was to integrate multiple electrical systems in a cohesive and efficient layout. This required precise coordination to install both standard and emergency lighting, establish power access points, and ensure compliance with safety regulations in all communal and private areas. In addition to the technical complexities, Glenfield Electrical coordinated with Arc Business Interiors to meet the specific design and aesthetic requirements for each office and meeting space, including custom lighting and fixture arrangements.
Our responsibilities for Jade Engineering included:
- Rewiring with low-smoke, low-fume cable for safety compliance
- Installation of recessed LED panel lights, emergency lighting, and PIR sensors across office spaces, meeting rooms, and restrooms
- Custom lighting solutions in boardrooms and meeting rooms, including pendants and multi-gang switches
- Setting up small power and data access in key areas, with floor boxes, trunking, and data points to facilitate office equipment and networking
- Installation of hand dryers, fan isolators, and socket outlets in restroom and kitchen areas
- Fitting a Schneider Square D 3-phase consumer unit with surge protection, connected to the MCCB panel board installed by the on-site electrician
- Setting up AC supplies, including rotary and single-phase isolators for reliable climate control
